About Gordito’s

Generations of heavy industry have traditionally drowned out most talk of culinary innovation or tradition that exists in the Midwest. What is commonly missed about this beautiful region of the country is, while the industry may or may not have decayed, there is an abundance of thriving and interwoven cultures that influence one another.

At Gordito’s we aim to celebrate that. We come from the “rust belt”, where generations and generations of different people have come to work in our factories, mines, and fields in order to earn a better life. Our people have come home, or been sent to work, with a great meal prepared by loving hands meant to fill bellies and nourish the soul. We aim to create rib-sticking meals within the culinary traditions of Latin America which have a strong presence in the Midwest, but with the pride of being where we are from,
the Rust Belt.
